Limpopo Winner Bags The Final Bakkie With PPC Cement

After six months of nationwide give aways, the PPC Bag a Bakkie competition has come to a close. The sixth and final winner is Mr. Johannes Marx, owner of Buffel Beton, a brick manufacturing company in Limpopo. The announcement was made during a handover event that took place at the Obaro store in Koedoeskop, Friday, 12 November.

Mr. Marx, now the proud owner of a Toyota Hilux bakkie, said “This is indeed a pleasant surprise! I am honoured to be the final winner of this competition and I am so grateful to PPC Cement for being nation builders beyond building homes. I have not yet decided if I will use the bakkie for my business or private use."

Marx explained that his colleague encouraged him to enter the cement competition because he stood a chance since he purchases 150 bags of cement daily.  Since the competition began, he has submitted six entries and has won various prizes, ranging from cash prizes to airtime.  Ultimately, he won the bakkie, which will enable him to continue fulfilling his dreams as cement is his source of revenue.

In order to stand a chance of winning a Bakkie, Surebuild cement customers needed to buy a PPC Surebuild Cement bag, fill in an entry form found on the cement bag and drop it off at the store where they purchased the cement.  The forms were collected monthly from each store and delivered to PPC’s head office, where the winner was drawn and the results validated by auditing firm, Deloitte & Touche. The competition closed on the 15th of September 2010. Customers who bought the Surebuild cement stood a chance to win a bakkie to the value of R170 000 every month, weekly R1000 cash prizes and R250 airtime over the duration of the competition.

PPC Cement began its national campaign early in March 2010 to create a strong brand affinity and preference for PPC cement. The company aimed to recognise individuals who continually support the brand, by rewarding their loyal customers for purchasing PPC Cement.

The national competition has been a tremendous success with a large number of entries, ranging from the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Pretoria. PPC Cement continues to build homes, businesses and bridges to unite South Africa.
