PPC Cement’s lucky customer scoops More n More’s P100, 000 grand prize

  • PPC’s culture driven by investing in communities
  • ‘PPC is a statement of quality assurance’ – winner

Today, PPC Botswana’s More and More competition came to an end with one lucky winner scooping the ultimate cash prize of P100,000 in a grand finale dubbed ‘Breakfast of Winners’.

The cement company in partnership with Spar, Botswana Retail Chain, forged a strategic alliance in July this year which saw  PPC’s customers being rewarded for brand loyalty through the Spar loyalty programme, nationwide.  Whoever bought 25 bags of BOTCEM or 20 bags of SUREBUILD or one ton of PPC cement stood a chance to win P2, 500.00 worth of groceries every month for a year. The promotion ran from 1st of July  to the 31st of September 2013.

The More and More promotion saw PPC Botswana step into what  was a first of its kind promotion compared to its signature industry-wide PPC Number 1 Builder Competition which rewards outstanding projects in the construction industry.

PPC Botswana’s culture is driven by investing in communities in which we operate and draw our employees. We are mindful of the need to empower, grow and develop. We strive to ensure that our nation’s ambitions are met by some of our efforts. This was the first of its kind to PPC Botswana but we are excited to see the difference we make in people’s lives. Partnership with Spar was a demonstration of our appreciation to our customers, who drive our commitment to quality products.”

PPC continues to play a critical role in Botswana’s development through the construction industry because of its commitment to quality assurance.

Last year the Minister of Infrastructure, Jonnie Swartz, endorsed PPC’s approach to development of the construction industry by calling it ‘more than just a cement company’.

PPC Cement was established in 1882 as De Eerste Cement Fabrieken Beperkt, and began operating in Botswana in 1996.  Their cement has formed part of the construction of major landmarks such as the new Ministry of Health, Diamond Technology Centre, Game City and Riverwalk malls.  The Number 1 Builder competition began in 2010 in an effort to promote excellence in the construction industry, demonstrate good corporate citizenry and to demonstrate the versatility of their cement.
