There is an enormous range of aggregates available from natural and commercial sources in South Africa. The commercial aggregates are processed from a wide range of geological rock types - like the granites, dolomites, quartzites, dolerites and amphibolites.
The production of aggregates and sands starts with the drilling and blasting of the rock to produce rock on-ground ready for further processing into smaller fractions via the primary crushing process.
Once the rock has been blasted, it gets loaded onto dumper trucks and transported to a crusher for initial (primary) crushing. During this process, particles ranging in size from dust to 450 mm ore crushed to more suitable sizes to be processed in the secondary and tertiary crushing (shaping) and screening of the aggregates (coarse products - particle size > 4.75mm ) and sands (fine products - particle sizes less than 4.75mm) into the required fractions.
All processes are continuously monitored to ensure an end product is produced which will meet the relevant specifications and the requirements of our valued customers.
