(11 April 2002) The Riebeeck West housing project in the Western Cape is a classic PPC Cement initiative. This joint initiative between business and the community not only addressed the housing needs of the area, but contributed towards job creation and social upliftment.

PPC Cement provided over R300 000 worth of bridging capital for the provision of service infrastructure. Local contractors were used, thereby creating jobs and facilitating skills transfer and ensuring long term development and sustainability of the community.
