PPC launches Surebuild cement to Zimbabwean market

PPC Zimbabwe, the leading cement producer in the country, is proud to introduce Surebuild, a 42.5N cement to its premium range of quality cement products available to the Zimbabwean market.

Surebuild has been engineered to achieve a consistent performance, allowing customers to yield more concrete from every bag of cement. The premium cement is ideal for high strength concrete as well as manufacturing of bricks, blocks and other concrete products.

First launched in 1996, Surebuild has proven successful in South Africa and Botswana and will now be manufactured at PPC’s plant in Bulawayo. This quality product will complement PPC’s current stable of products which include Porthold Masonry Cement 22.5, Unicem 32.5 and OPC CEM1 42.5.

“PPC is constantly looking for innovative ways that will add value to our customers. With the introduction of PPC Surebuild 42,5N, it gives concrete product manufacturers and the construction industry confidence to tackle their projects successfully, knowing that they can rely on a premium product,” said Njombo Lekula, MD of PPC Zimbabwe.

PPC is at the forefront of providing customers with superior service and its most recent innovation is the state-of-the-art palletiser and plastic cover wrapping machine, a first in the Zimbabwean market. The automated machine improves output and turn-around times for customers, reduces dust and breakage and protects cement from moisture damage.

In addition, PPC’s value added services expands to its Builder’s App, which provides customers with access to useful tools such as the weather forecaster as well as the cement and construction calculators. Furthermore, PPC’s Cement & Concrete Cube, a unique information sharing platform for all cement and concrete related topics, is also available to stakeholders.

According Lekula, “PPC is more than a cement company; we go beyond as we provide services that stretch beyond the purchase of a cement bag. We understand our customers’ needs and are involved in every part of their journey from start to finish.”

PPC Zimbabwe is an iconic brand that has been used for over 100 years and will continue being used in Zimbabwean communities, developing infrastructure and building significant landmarks – such as the Kariba Dam, Harare International Airport, the NRZ Building in Bulawayo and Lake Mutirikwi.

The cement company is in the process of expanding its operations in Zimbabwe, through the construction of a new cement milling plant in Harare. The new plant will have a capacity of approximately 800 million tons of cement per annum.

“PPC is committed to being a key role player in the development of infrastructure in Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries. Not only will this investment address the expected future increase in cement demand in Zimbabwe, but create employment opportunities, beneficiation of the country's mineral reserves, and a significant growth opportunity for our indigenisation partners.,” concluded Lekula.
